Archenemy: Nicol Bolas<\/span><\/strong> is a specialized, ready-to-play Magic: The Gathering<\/strong> multiplayer box set released in 2017. It is designed around an „asymmetrical cooperative”<\/strong> (1v3) format where one player takes on the role of the ultimate villain, and three others team up as heroes to defeat them.<\/div>\n

Gameplay Concept<\/div>\n

  • One vs. Many:<\/strong> One player acts as the Elder Dragon Planeswalker, Nicol Bolas<\/strong>. The other three players form a team of heroes representing the Gatewatch (Gideon Jura<\/strong>, Chandra Nalaar<\/strong>, and Nissa Revane<\/strong>).<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Scheme Deck:<\/strong> To balance the three-on-one disadvantage, the Archenemy possesses a separate deck of 20 oversized Scheme cards<\/strong>. At the start of each of the villain’s turns, they flip one Scheme card to trigger devastating, game-changing effects against the heroes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
